Sprouted Green peas curry
A typical Konkan style curry with a blend of Indian spices. A perfect vegan option for including good quality protein in your diet.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sprouted green peas
- ½ cup freshly grated coconut
- 4 green chilies
- 1 /2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4-5 whole black pepper
- Small ball of tamarind
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp oil
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 4 tbsp Chopped cilantro
- Salt for taste
- Pinch of asafoetida
Instructions
- Cook the sprouted green peas with twice the water in a pressure cooker.
- Add half teaspoon turmeric powder, cumin seeds, 2 sliced green chilies and pinch of salt while cooking the peas.
- Do not overcook. Now let's make a spice mix with grated coconut, add 2 green chilies, black pepper, tamarind, turmeric powder. Grind this to fine paste.
- Now in a pan take oil. Once hot add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and some cilantro.
- Add boiled green peas to this. Stir well. Add the grind paste to the pan. Curry thickness can be decided as per your choice.
- Add remaining salt as per taste. Stir well.
- Add the remaining cilantro and serve hot.
