Pumpkin Masoor Dal Curry
Pumpkin Masoor dal curry is healthy version of dal who does not like to eat pumpkin especially children.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Masoor dal
- 1/2 Cup chopped pumpkin skin removed
- 2 tsp Ghee
- 1 tbsp chopped ginger
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 small piece of cinnamon
- 1 small tomato
- cilantro for garnishing
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Take pumpkin. Remove the skin and chop into cubes.
- Soak masoor Dal for one hour ,after rinsing two times with water.
- Cook together pumpkin, masoor Dal, Ginger chopped, salt, turmeric and for half cup masoor Dal add two cups of water.
- Cook in the pressure cooker for two whistles or in the pot until it is soft.
- take a pan add ghee, when ghee is warm enough add cumin seeds and a small piece of cinnamon.
- Add chopped tomatoes and Saute for 2 minutes add salt, green chilies, red chilli powder cover and cook for 2 minutes
- Add cooked Dal and pumpkin to this add cilantro
- boil and top it off with cilantro and lemon juice
- Serve hot with rice
Notes
Pumpkin and Masoor dal gives little bit sweetness to this recipe. You can added extra spices like green chillies and garam masala.
